Matěj Hošek is a student at the Private High School of Art Design in Prague. He was born with autism spectrum disorder and his prospects at birth seemed bleak. Thanks to his family's care, he came to grips with adversity, and thanks to inclusive schooling, he completed primary school and passed his secondary school entrance exams. His passions are transportation, art, and above all drawing maps. Initially these were transport maps, but later on, maps became a support for him in grasping the world, and he began drawing structured maps of his school subjects.
Today, he draws illustrations, personalities,
and architectural heritage, creates highly regarded lithographs and - together
with his mother, Michaela - works on books and other creative products proving
that a handicap is not a hindrance.
